| Corporate Flight, Inc. (CFI) started in 1978 as Mid-Michigan Aviation in Alma, MI. The Company moved to Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) in 1979 and renamed Corporate Flight, Inc. The first aircraft operated by CFI was a Cessna Citation 500 series. Additional Cessna Citation and Lear Jet aircraft were added to the fleet in 1981.
Grand Trunk Railroad purchased Corporate Flight, Inc. in 1990. Due to regulatory restrictions pertaining to ownership of a United States aircraft charter company by an international entity (Canada), Grand Trunk sold it to Corporate Flight’s present owners in 1991.
Economic growth and client demand in northern Oakland County prompted CFI to establish hangar and dispatch facilities at Oakland County International Airport (PTK) in 1991 to better serve our customers.
Currently, Corporate Flight, Inc. operates out of two locations, PTK and DTW. We own, manage, lease and/or operate 12 jet aircraft and 1 turbo-prop ranging from a Gulfstream II to a King Air B100. We have 21 full-time and 4 part-time pilots, 9 mechanics, and an administrative/support staff of 9. |
