| Step back in time whilst enjoying luxury accommodation with every modern convenience. Whether you are a corporate client requiring a luxurious but convenient location, or looking for a break out of the ordinary, MacArthur Chambers can offer something to suit every requirement of the discerning traveller.
A stunning sandstone building, MacArthur Chambers was constructed between 1931 and 1934. In 1942, American General Douglas MacArthur - Commander in Chief of the Allied Forces in the Pacific - moved to Brisbane and commandeered the Queen St premises as a base from which to conduct the crucial Pacific campaign of World War II. And so the building came to be known as MacArthur Chambers.
The MacArthur Museum Brisbane is open to the public on a Tuesday/Thursday and Sunday from 10am-3pm as a managed wartime display and will feature as an integral part of Brisbane’s Living Heritage Network, connecting people, places and history. Entry is by gold coin donation. |
