The Officer model represents the continued efforts from the watchmakers of Ernst Benz as they release a new version of their ChronoLunar to celebrate a decade since its first release, which brought about the developments of a new generation of timepieces for the company. “Founded on a modern interpretation of the ideal classic timepiece, The Officer model represents the design principle of Ernst Benz, which is a modern aesthetic, within a historical context. Exhibiting the influence of the mid-century watches that inspire us as watchmakers,” remarked Ernst Benz Managing & Creative Director Leonid Khankin. Historically, Officer timepieces have been created as the more refined version of the original utilitarian instrument and military watches that were initially created by watchmakers for the purpose of performing timing functions and calculations. The Officer model will first be offered in their signature 47mm version of the premiere ChronoLunar model. An ideal first release, the ChronoLunar model with its chronograph and additional calendar functions allow the greatest expression of this new design. Additionally its proportions permit for optimal visibility of its features, which are arranged to be legible at a glance. Featuring a magnificently finished dial, the Officer model is offered in Black or White with elegantly applied hand polished numerals in either steel or gold finish, filled with white luminous and paired with a matching polished version of Ernst Benz’s signature hands also with luminous. The moon disc is finished in either silver or gold metallic moon to correspond to the details of the dial. As with high complication timepieces from which this model draws inspiration, the distinguishing feature of the ChronoLunar is the distinctive way it indicates the position of the calendar; its calendar window displays the day, month and phases of the moon, while a crescent pointed center hand indicates the date. Additionally, a subsidiary display shows current 24-hour time. Driven by the legendary Valjoux 7751 movement, the technical complexity and details of this model are complimented by its exceptional performance and reliability.
