Dear Reader, |
August 2008 |
Forward to a friend |
In an earlier edition we presented a taste of the many real estate options available to you, the multiple-home owner. This month, inspired by the long holidays abroad, seaside gatherings and other adventures that embody the pleasantries of summer, we steady our sea legs to give you a glimpse into the home vacation and shopping opportunities available to the maritime enthusiasts. In the same vein that companies such as FlexJet and Ritz Carlton have helped cultivate fractional ownership for their respective industries, several respected yachting brands as well as new services are emerging to create similar opportunities at sea! As we say bon voyage to another season, what better time to drift away thinking about plans for the next great adventure!
Happy Yachting!

Own your own...or part of one
Like the private jet industry and other markets catering to the high net worth individual, fractional ownership options among the yachting community are becoming increasingly prevalent. Companies such as SeaNet, who have an extraordinary fleet of Sunseeker yachts, have seen a steady increase in the number of individuals selecting fractional ownership over constructing their own yacht. In fact, they've added two new yachts to their fleet to better serve southern Florida and the Bahamas. Mike Costa, President of SeaNet, mentioned in a recent conversation with LuxuryLifestyle.com that fractional ownership has opened up numerous opportunities for those facing time constraints in maintaining a yacht or for those who are more conscious of their investments in this economic climate. Though SeaNet's fleet is comprised entirely of SunSeeker Yachts, fractional ownership encompasses nearly the entire spectrum of yachting brands to suit your individual tastes and many services, including equity residence clubs, are now broadening their property offerings to include yachts.

In addition, Camper & Nicholsons International, one of the most revered yachting brands, known for their award-winning marinas, rich history, expertise, and quarterly magazine, Sea & I, recently implemented a crew training program to further service your yachting needs. They also announced the creation of the CNI Superyachting Index which provides in-depth analysis of the industry’s different segments. CNI will present the Superyachting Index as part of the Luxury Marketing Council of Southern California “Wealth On Water: Yachting and the High Net Worth, at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point, CA on August 27, 2008 in Dana Point, CA. SeaFair’s upcoming event, Rock The Boat, will launch November 29, 2008 and run through December 7, 2008 in Miami Beach, Florida, concurrent with Art Basel Miami.
